Fabric Digitization is the process of creating a 3D digital fabric from in-real-life fabrics, by capturing surface texture and physical parameters.

Unlike other digitization services, Binarycloth is able to digitize complex fabrics such as PVC, foil, fur, pleats, velvet, glitter, etc. with some restrictions.

We are not able to accurately digitize fabrics that have involve complex structure, dangling embellishments, novelty yarns, irregular thickness in each hair, feather yarns, large folds in pleats, etc.

Digitized fabrics will be Proprietary to your company. It will not used anywhere.

What you receive with our fabric digitalization service

BinaryCloth turns physical fabric swatches into production-ready digital materials for 3D apparel design, ecommerce visualization and virtual sampling. These additions clarify the actual deliverables for fashion brands, 3D teams and product developers.

PBR texture maps

High-resolution material outputs can include base color, normal, roughness, height or displacement, opacity or alpha, metallic and ambient occlusion maps depending on the fabric type.

CLO3D-ready materials

Digital fabrics can support CLO3D apparel design workflows, virtual sampling, fabric libraries and realistic garment previews for design review.

Repeatable fabric archive

Build a reusable digital fabric library so your team can apply the same scanned material across future garments, colorways and campaigns.

Built for fashion brands, 3D teams and ecommerce workflows

Fabric scanning is most valuable when the digital material needs to look believable on garments, product renders and ecommerce assets. We help brands reduce guesswork by capturing the surface qualities of real fabric samples.

Virtual sampling

Use scanned fabric textures to evaluate garments digitally before physical sample rounds.

3D product visuals

Create more realistic apparel renders for ecommerce, lookbooks and product configurators.

Material consistency

Keep fabric surfaces consistent across design, marketing and product development teams.

Vendor communication

Share clearer fabric references with factories, vendors and remote collaborators.

Software and file compatibility details

The final setup depends on your target workflow, but scanned fabric outputs can support common 3D apparel, rendering and design pipelines used by fashion teams.

3D apparel tools

Useful for CLO3D, Browzwear and other digital garment workflows where fabric surface realism matters.

Rendering pipelines

PBR texture maps can support Blender, Cinema 4D, Maya, Unreal, Substance and other visualization tools.

Input guidance

For best results, send clean fabric swatches with clear warp and weft direction, color references and any special finish notes.
